Queue at Mikrotik

 Name : Aldini Vida Steivia

Class : TBI-5C

Queue is a utility on MikroTik that functions to regulate and limit the size of bandwidth in a network structure. there are 2 types of queue at the mikrotik namely :

1. Queue Tree

It is used to implement more complicated functions within bandwidth constraints. In a large-scale computer network, this is typically used to limit one-way connections for downloads and uploads. Because the Queue Tree is designed to perform more complex tasks, the process of creating one is often described as complicated.

2.  Simple Queue

One sort of Queue having a very simple technique of allocating bandwidth for small to medium-sized computer networks. This basic queue is typically used to control each user's upload and download bandwidth.

Difference between Queue Tree and Simple Queue

1. Queue Tree

  1. more adaptable and must comprehend mangle and traffic control.
  2. Capable of dividing bandwidth in a set manner
  3. Supports the usage of PCQ in order to distribute bandwidth equitably.
  4. Controls one-way packet flow
  5. This is rarely used.
2. Simple Queue
  1. Able to limit traffic based on IP address
  2. Has very strict rules
  3. Regulates two-way flow of packets
  4. Supports the use of PCQ so that it can divide bandwidth evenly
  5. Can implement tagged queue via package mangle
  6. Able to share bandwidth in a fixed manner
  7. The setup is simpler
